Let It Burn is an Ableton remake of Sidepiece’s remix of Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye. The project recreates the main elements of the remix and organizes them in a way that makes it easy to dissect, learn from, edit, and repurpose.
All main instruments are set up as MIDI tracks, giving you the freedom to change melodies and drum samples, adjust synth presets and processing, or tweak arrangement and structure. This makes the template both a practical learning tool and a flexible starting point for your own productions.
Because every track is editable, it helps you to see from the inside how the remix is put together, from drum layering and synth design to arrangement and mixing decisions. You can solo individual elements, explore how different parts interact, and use the techniques in your own productions.
The project is mixed and mastered with Ableton Live’s native effects, with Serum as the only required third-party plugin.
Whether you use it as a reference for learning production techniques, a way to practice mixing and composition, or a starting point for your own Progressive House tracks, Let It Burn offers a clear and flexible project to explore both the creative and technical aspects of modern music production.
For your convenience, the template comes in two versions to ensure compatibility with both Serum 1 and Serum 2.
