VPEX is an Ableton template that explores a darker Phonk sound with breakbeat elements and influences from Mr.Kitty. The project is fully customizable, with all main instruments set as MIDI tracks so you can adjust melodies, drum patterns, automation, processing, and structure to fit your own ideas.
Even the cowbell, a defining element of Phonk, is recreated in Serum, giving you the freedom to reshape and experiment with the sound instead of being limited to a single sample.
Because every part of the track is editable, the template also works as a learning resource. You can take it apart to see how drums are layered, how synths are designed, how effects are applied, and how the track is arranged, mixed, and mastered. Soloing tracks and hearing individual layers gives you a clear look at how everything works together, making it easier to understand the production process and apply similar techniques in your own projects.
The project is mixed and mastered with Ableton Live’s built-in effects and requires only Serum.
Beyond being a starting point for new tracks, VPEX can also be used to practice composition, arrangement, mixing, and sound design, or simply as a source of ready-to-use instruments, presets, and processing chains for your own productions.
For your convenience, the template comes in two versions to ensure compatibility with both Serum 1 and Serum 2.

What can I do with Abletunes templates?
The main purpose of our templates is learning by reverse engineering. They are fully mixed, mastered and arranged so you can explore all aspects of the music production "from the inside". You can use samples, racks, presets and channel strips for your own production. Moreover, you can use our templates as a powerful starting point for your new tracks.
You can use template-based tracks for commercial releases, YouTube videos, apps, games, film, television, radio, websites, etc. For a full list of permitted and unauthorized uses, please check our License Agreement.

Exactly what do I get when I buy Abletunes template?
You’ll get a .zip file that contains mixed and mastered Ableton® Live™ project (*.alp), synth presets and all the samples used.

Can I open templates created in older versions of Ableton Live with the latest (or higher) version?
Yes, Ableton Live is backward compatible. You can open projects saved in earlier versions of Ableton Live with newer versions of the software without any issues.

What if I don't have the required plugins?
Upon request we can freeze or bounce synth tracks in audio format.
