The Lost Tapes is a Boom Bap Ableton template that perfectly captures the sound of early 90s Hip Hop and delivers an inspiring blend of punchy drums, deep bass, catchy piano melody, and accompanying strings.
The template is made without using samples and any 3rd party plugins - piano, strings, and bass tracks are all based on our own multi-sampled instrument racks and set as MIDI tracks allowing you to easily change melodies and drum patterns without any pitch or sound quality issues.
All processing, mixing, and mastering are done using only Ableton Live's built-in plugins.
To show you all the details of creating boom bap drums, we also didn't use any pre-made drum samples, kits, or loops. Instead, we sliced and processed a simple acoustic drum break from illements sample library and turned it into a hard-hitting beat. So with this Ableton template, you will be able to explore kick and snare processing chains (+ drum bus processing) and use them as a starting point for making your original drum loops and samples.
The template has a complete structure that can be easily customized to fit your idea and style.
The Lost Tapes provides the perfect starting point for creating your own original beats. All samples and instruments are royalty-free so you can use template-based beats for commercial releases.

What can I do with Abletunes templates?
The main purpose of our templates is learning by reverse engineering. They are fully mixed, mastered and arranged so you can explore all aspects of the music production "from the inside". You can use samples, racks, presets and channel strips for your own production. Moreover, you can use our templates as a powerful starting point for your new tracks.
You can use template-based tracks for commercial releases, YouTube videos, apps, games, film, television, radio, websites, etc. For a full list of permitted and unauthorized uses, please check our License Agreement.

Exactly what do I get when I buy Abletunes template?
You’ll get a .zip file that contains mixed and mastered Ableton® Live™ project (*.alp), synth presets and all the samples used.

Can I open templates created in older versions of Ableton Live with the latest (or higher) version?
Yes, Ableton Live is backward compatible. You can open projects saved in earlier versions of Ableton Live with newer versions of the software without any issues.

Upon request we can freeze or bounce synth tracks in audio format.
